CARE GROUPS

Getting connected and living life together goes beyond the Sunday morning gatherings. CARE Group is a key part of life at Gulf Coast Community Church of Brandon where the Gospel is authentically lived out and shared in the lives of one another. It is a place where those in need are helping those in need of the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

CARE Group is where we connect and experience the “informal” times of worship we see in Acts 2:42-47 42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. On Sunday mornings we are blessed by sound exegetical bible teaching, but it is at CARE Group where we dig deeper into Sunday’s teaching and make careful personal life applications.  Our Care Group is also our first line of fellowship where relationships are deepened and sharpened (“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” – Prov 27:17.),  meals can be shared, and prayers for one another lifted up.

What is “CARE”?

C:  Comfort and Care
A:  Apply and Accountability
R:  Relationship Building and Reaching Guests
E:  Exalt God and Exhort One Another to Love and Good Deeds

  • Our primary goal in CARE Groups is to care for and comfort one another. We do this in a variety of ways like praying for one another’s needs and God’s grace; offer direct support by providing meals, help with projects, and supporting through benevolence; and just plain loving one another.
  • CARE Group is also a time for learning to apply the Word from Sunday’s sermon or other Biblical materials. Our goal is to help one another in understanding the context, author’s aim, and Gospel application for each of our lives while in a place we can feel comfortable doing so.
  • People actively involved in CARE Group tend to build deeper relationship because we continually grow in knowing and loving Christ and one other in meaningful ways.
  • We live to exalt God and encourage each other toward love and good deeds. This becomes a part of our lives because we live in freedom in Christ knowing that we are all imperfectly living out the Gospel and growing as the Spirit leads.

We meet in several homes once a week for around 2 hours to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, and live. You do not have to be a member of Gulf Coast Community Church to be a part of a CARE Group. All are welcome!
